Tamara will participate in a Walkathon to raise money for charity. Her father will donate $12 for Tamara's participate plus an additional $2.50 for each mile that Tamara walks. If Tamara walks 9 miles, what will be the amount of her father's donation?

Her father donated $12 plus $2.50 for each mile.

a = 2.5m + 12  {a is the amount and m is the number of miles}
a = 2.5(9) + 12   {she walks 9 miles}
= 22.5 + 12   {multiplied}
=  34.5   {added}

Her father's donation is $34.50
