The ages of the 2 brothers can be represented as consecutive even integers. If the age of the younger brother is expressed as x + 1, express the age of the older brother?

If the younger brother is x + 1, and the ages are consecutive even integers,
the older brother would be x + 3 {added 2 onto younger brother’s age}

consecutive even integers increase by 2, such as 2, 4, 6, 8, ........
