Find the sum of the solutions

How do you find the sum of a solution after you solved for x?
Example in the equation x² - 6x + 5 = 0
x = 5 or 1
I don’t know how to find the sum after this point?

“Sum” is the answer to an addition problem.

If you are looking to find the sum of the solutions for x, just add the values of x together.

If x = 5 or 1,
then 5 + 1 = 6 would be the sum.
