Find the common difference of the arithmetic sequence 18, 22, 26, ....
To find the common difference, just subtract backwards.
For example, in the sequence 2, 4, 6, 8, ...., the common difference is 2, because subtracting backwards 8 6 = 2, and 6 4 = 2, and 4 2 = 2. So, in 18, 22, 26, ...., subtracting backwards: 26 (22) = 4 and 22 (18) = 4 The common difference is 4. Ask Algebra House
