Find the common difference of the arithmetic sequence -18, -22, -26, ....
To find the common difference, just subtract backwards.
For example, in the sequence 2, 4, 6, 8, ...., the common difference is 2, because subtracting backwards 8 - 6 = 2, and 6 - 4 = 2, and 4 - 2 = 2. So, in -18, -22, -26, ...., subtracting backwards: -26 - (-22) = 4 and -22 - (-18) = 4 The common difference is 4. Ask Algebra House
