Find the 60th term of the arithmetic sequence -14, -25, -36, .....

An arithmetic sequence is a sequence with a common difference.  When you go from -14 to -25 to -36 to ...., you are subtracting 11 each time.  The 60th term would be found by starting with -14 and subtracting 11, fifty-nine times.

=  -14 - 11(59)  {started with -14 and subtracted 11 fifty-nine times}
= -14 - 649  {multiplied}
=  -663   {subtracted}
