An arithmetic sequence is a sequence of numbers with a common difference.
In -10, 8, 26, ....... , the common difference is 18. {subtracted 26 - 18 to get the common difference} Start with -10 and add 18 fifty-nine times in order to arrive at the 60th term. -10 + 59(18) {started with -10 and added 18 fifty-nine times} = -10 + 1062 {multiplied 59 by 18} = 1052 {added} Here is another example:
