2y - x = 5
Create an ordered pair that represents one point on the graph of the equation

x is the input and y is the output

Just pick any value and substitute in for x (the input), then you will get a y-value (the output), when you solve for y.

If x = 2

2y - x = 5
2y - 2 = 5  {substituted 2 in for x}
2y = 7  {added 2 to each side}
y = 7/2  {divided each side by 2}

(2, 7/2) would be a point on the graph of the equation
