What two numbers multiply to -60 & add to -4?

Factor combinations of 60 are
60 and 1
30 and 2
20 and 3
15 and 4
12 and 5
10 and 6

The only combination that you could add together (with a negative sign), to get a 4, is 10 and 6.

One of them is negative, since you are multiplying to get -60.
Then, decide which one is negative, so that you add to get -4.

-10 and 6 is the combination you are looking for.
