Solve the compound inequality

10/3/2021

0 Comments

How do you solve the inequality?
-2 ≤ x -11 ≤ 6

Most inequalities have a left and right side, such as:
3x > 6
Here, you would divide each side by 3…..to treat each side equally.

Think of this compound inequality as having 3 areas…..a left, middle, and right…..treat them all equally.
Just add 11 to the left, middle, and right.

-2 ≤ x - 11 ≤ 6
9 ≤ x ≤ 17   {added 11 to the left, middle, and right, to get x by itself}
