Saving money to buy a new computer

Shirley is saving money to buy a new computer. The computer she will buy costs $1,200.
She has already saved 300.  Shirley will save another $60 each week, until she has saved enough money to buy the compute.  How many weeks will it take Shirley to save enough money to buy the computer?

x = number of weeks to save {the unknown}

Create an equation:
(amount saver per week times number of weeks) plus (amount already saved) =  total amount

60x + 300 = 1200
60x = 900 {subtracted 300 from each side}
x = 15  {divided each side by 60}

she must save for 15 weeks
