You are competing in a mountain bike race. Your average speed is 10 mi/h. If the racecourse is 65 miles long, how many minutes will it take you to finish the race?

Find the number of hours the course will take.  Then, change the hours to minutes.

The average speed is 10 mi/hr and the course is 65 miles long.
To find the number of hours, just divide 65 by 10,

65 miles ÷ 10 mph
= 6.5 hours

Change the hours to minutes.  Multiply by 60, because there are 60 minutes in an hour.

6.5 hours
