Find four consecutive even integers with a sum of -60.

x = first even integer
x + 2 = second even integer
{even integers increase by 2}
x + 4 = third even integer
x + 6 = fourth even integer

x + x + 2 + x + 4 + x + 6 = -60 {added the four integers and set equal to -60}
4x + 12 = -60 {combined like terms}
4x = -72 {subtracted 12 from each side}
x = -18 {divided each side by 4}
x + 2 = -16 {substituted -18, in for x, into x + 2}
x + 4 = -14 {substituted -18, in for x, into x + 4}
x + 6 = -12 {substituted -18, in for x, into x + 6}

-18, -16, -14, and -12 are the four consecutive even integers.
